Government Depts. of the UPGR

Like most governments,that of the UPGR delegates tasks down to departments staffed with competant (at least...we hope so.If not,then heads will roll.) employees who have proven their capabilites in their chosen field. Below is a list of each department,their job,and any projects they are currently working on.We hope this will help to inform you about the functioning of UPGR.

The Department of Technology
The DOT is the organization responsible for maintaining our nation's technological infrastructure. This includes everything from UPGR Internet Backbones to publicly accessable computers to running our Universal Information Accessibility program.
Projects:Universal Information Accessibility Project. Designed to increase public access to information technology in schools,librarys,cyber cafes,etc. and to increase public understanding of how to use these tools.
Currently,In our Open-Source Branch,all we have is a cheap little C program. Feel free to submit your own Free Software to be posted on this page.
The Department of Space Exploration
The DSE works to develop,maintain,and utilize the resources and manpower to run a functioning space program. The DSE is also the contact for private companys seeking to make use of the UPGR's space centers and personel.
Projects:LTSS: Long Term Space Station. Designed as a permanent space station to work in conjunction with the Russian Space Station Mir.
The Department of Defense
The DOD works to maintain a working military for the defense of the UPGR and to assist our allies in military opperations. This branch is divided into divisions according to four Service Branchs:Army,Navy,Air Force, and the Special Forces(The Geeks with Guns).
Projects:Long Range Mobile Defense Battery-Mobile SAM battery to serve as a defense for military facilites and critical startegic locations
The Department of the Treasury
The Treasury serves as the financial core of the UPGR. It's the government bank, regulator of the economy, and tax collector. It is divided to two organizations,the Treasury and the NRS(National Revenue Service)
Projects:None
The Department of Health
The DOH is chartered with duties associated with the health and welfare of our citizens.Specificly,it monitors the saftey of foods and drugs that are inside our borders,maintaining our quality(Certified as such by the UN) public health care that we provide to all citizens,and in circulating publications about medical breakthroughs and such to those in the medical profession.
Projects:Currently the DOH is testing severaly drugs that promise to reduce the symptoms and improve recovery times from diseases such as chicken pox and influenza.
